Kassi Erickson

Biography
Kassi Erickson joined the Medical Laboratory Science Program in February 2019. She is a graduate of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ with a B.S. in microbiology. After graduating from SDSU, Erickson completed Sanford USD Medical Center’s Medical Laboratory Science program and has been a board-certified medical laboratory scientist since 2013. In 2018, Erickson received her M.S. in medical laboratory science from the University of North Dakota. She worked as a medical laboratory scientist at the Brookings Health System before to moving into education. Prior to joining the program at SDSU, she was an instructor for the medical laboratory technician program at Lake Area Technical College. She earned her Doctorate in Education and leadership in health care from Nebraska Methodist College in July 2023.
Erickson currently teaches courses in the medical laboratory science and phlebotomy certificate programs, including hematology, phlebotomy and laboratory safety, as well as an introduction to medical laboratory science course. She is also the MLS Club faculty adviser.
