Two ����Ӱ�� students in the landscape architecture program competed in an international competition in Istanbul, Turkey. Jake Pytleski and Miranda Peck represented the SDSU School of Design in the International Federation of Landscape Architects conference Sept. 4-6.

Adam Devlin, a recent master’s graduate in the ����Ӱ�� Department of Agronomy, Horticulture and Plant Science, worked on a collaborative project with faculty in the School of Design to bring awareness to the hardships of South Dakota farmers and the effects of soil composition in various subjects.

The South Dakota Art Museum at ����Ӱ�� will celebrate the immersive exhibition of huge blown glass ears of corn, “Primordial Shift: The Art of Michael Meilahn,” with a free public reception and panel discussion from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 27.

David C. Earnest, the Odeen-Swanson Distinguished Professor and chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of South Dakota, has been named dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at ����Ӱ��. Earnest was selected following a national search and will begin working on the SDSU campus July 8.

The South Dakota Art Museum at ����Ӱ�� will open its newest exhibition, “Termespheres: Without Beginning or End,” with a free public reception and artist talk from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 23. Artist Dick Termes will speak at 6 p.m., discussing the spherical paintings in this exhibition, known as Termespheres, and his process for creating them.

The annual ����Ӱ�� Celebration of Faculty Excellence recognized 30 faculty members, researchers and scientists Tuesday. The event honors faculty members in the university's colleges for outstanding research, teaching and service.

The South Dakota Art Museum at ����Ӱ�� will open its newest exhibition, “Signe Stuart: Events in Time and Space,” with a free public reception and artist talk from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21.

The South Dakota Art Museum at ����Ӱ�� (SDSU) celebrates the opening of the highly anticipated Dakota Modern: The Art of Oscar Howe with free festivities for all ages, from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on June 10.

The acclaimed exhibition Dakota Modern: The Art of Oscar Howe  culminates its national tour in Oscar Howe’s home state of South Dakota. Dakota Modern will be on view June 10, 2023–Sept.17, 2023 at the South Dakota Art Museum at ����Ӱ�� in Brookings.

"Dakota Modern" was on display this past summer at the South Dakota Art Museum at ����Ӱ�� in Brookings. The museum welcomed the public to a free opening-day celebration on June 10, along with educational events and programming related to Oscar Howe throughout the summer and beyond.
