All are invited to learn more about conservation efforts in the Coteau des Prairies region at the upcoming Oak Lake Field Station Field Day. Hear from ����Ӱ�� experts on a variety of conservation topics on Thursday, July 10, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at 19862 483rd Ave., Astoria.

There will be something for everyone at the ����Ӱ�� Southeast Research Farm Field Day, Tuesday, July 8, beginning at 1:30 p.m. at 29974 University Road, Beresford. Attendees will be able to choose from multiple farm tours, hear relevant research presentations, and the day will end with a Family Evening put on by SDSU Extension.

Last month, for the first time in more than 20 years, the ����Ӱ�� Horse Unit held a public sale of horses from its herd. Over the past several months, as I have prepared to renew my nurse anesthesia certification, the idea of professional identity keeps running through my head. Like many of you, I have enjoyed a long career in nursing — both as a clinician and as an educator.

Today, ����Ӱ�� remains the only institution in the state to offer the research-focused Doctorate of Philosophy in nursing.

After 43 years of service as a nurse and nurse educator, Sue Bassett is going out on top. At the conclusion of her 26-year nursing educator career, preceded by 17 years in the nursing field, Bassett was honored by ����Ӱ��’s College of Nursing faculty, staff and students with two of the college’s highest honors.
