Student research

The Office for Technology Transfer advances innovation across ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ by supporting the creation, development and dissemination of new knowledge, technologies and creative works. We work with faculty and staff to help ideas move beyond the university and into real-world use, whether through industry partnerships, collaborative research, licensing, startups, workforce engagement or community-based initiatives.

Through strategic partnerships with companies, entrepreneurs, government agencies, investors and nonprofit organizations, the Office for Technology Transfer promotes pathways that translate SDSU innovations into practical solutions. These activities span a wide range of areas, including agriculture, engineering, life sciences, data and digital technologies, health, energy and social impact.

By fostering collaboration and facilitating the responsible transfer of knowledge and innovation, the Office for Technology Transfer helps ensure that discoveries made at SDSU contribute meaningfully to economic development, public benefit and the well-being of communities in South Dakota and beyond.
