2025-2026 Cost of Attendance

The Cost of Attendance reflects the estimated total expenses a full-time student may incur over one academic year (fall and spring semesters) at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, and includes both direct and indirect costs.

Direct costs such as tuition, fees, on-campus housing and meal plans are billed automatically by SDSU.

Indirect costs, which are not billed by the university, include estimated expenses for transportation, personal items, books and supplies, and room and board for students living off campus. These estimates help students understand the full financial picture of attending SDSU and are used to determine financial aid eligibility.

(1)Residents of Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming who are either new first-time students, new transfer students from outside the South Dakota Board of Regents system, or South Dakota Board of Regents system transfer students and SDSU readmits who have not been enrolled for a period of 12 months or more, will pay an equivalent rate to in-state tuition through the South Dakota Advantage tuition program.

(2)Nonresident students qualify for a rate equivalent to in-state tuition if a parent or legal guardian graduated from ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.

(3)Minnesota resident tuition rate is applied to Minnesota residents who started in the spring 2024 term or in a prior term.

(4)Based on 15 credits per term. Courses in certain disciplines have additional fees that may increase the total tuition and fee estimates listed above. These additional fees are based on the number of credits students take in that discipline.

(5)Added to estimated costs to offset loan Direct Loan origination fees
