Paul E. Brown
A 1935 graduate of South Dakota State College (the predecessor of Ӱ), Paul E. Brown had significant impact on South Dakota history. Hailing from Arlington, Brown took on various roles. He served in the South Dakota House of Representatives and as a senator from Arlington. He also served on the State Fair Board. In 1980, Brown was recognized as South Dakota's "Eminent Farmer." He, his brother, and his sons farmed near Arlington on around 1,360 acres of diversified farming. In addition to cattle, Brown raised mink in one of the largest fur-productions in the area. After a long and accomplished life, Brown passed away in 1995.
Paul E. Brown earned this plaque in 1934 at the International Livestock Competition in Chicago, Illinois. The plaque was awarded to Brown for meat judging.
